Cameron Black

Professional fishing guide and advocate for improved fishing

Cameron’s passion for fishing began with his father and grandfather taking him to local lakes for trout and panfish. He loved fishing and it quickly turned into an obsession that lead him to ride his bike in the dead of winter to the local river to chase steelhead. Cameron spent time with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife working on local rivers and commercial operations before stepping into his true calling, guiding anglers.

After ten plus years guiding, he joined up with a group of likeminded anglers known as “Addicted Fishing” and began teaching the techniques and lifestyle of the salmon anglers of the Northwest. Cameron spends his time promoting the sport of fishing through their content and videos, constantly working on growing the number of new anglers and engaging the future generation of fishermen. He has been a supporter of the CCA and NSIA for many years and is on the NWGAA Washington Board.

Cameron and his wife, Alexis, live with their two children in Woodland, Washington.

Mike E. Olson

As an outdoor enthusiast, Mike has spent many years fishing and hunting in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He found his passion at a very young age, fishing his local lakes, Straits of Juan De Fuca and Puget Sound with his family. At the age of 10, Mike was landing steelhead and salmon out of the Cedar River in King County, just a 2-mile walk from his house.  After moving out of his parent’s house at 19, Mike moved into a small cabin on the Cedar River. He was shocked at the decline in salmon and steelhead as the population seemed to disappear over time. (Herschel the sea lion dominated the news cycle during those years).

Mike guided the Quileute system on the Washington coast for a few years throughout his 20s and 30s. Building relationships with fellow anglers and tribal guides created memories that remain today.

With experience came the realization that our treasured salmon and steelhead runs were in trouble. Reading books and articles by everyone from Bill Herzog and Buzz Ramsey to our lender and Rowland Martin, Mike absorbed enough to know that he had to contribute more than the cost of a license and tag.

During the last 20 years, Mike has been spending a good deal of time helping fish, animals and wetlands.

Today, Mike serves on the WDFW Puget Sound Recreational Fisheries Enhancement Fund Oversight Committee as well as the Chairman of the Snoqualmie Valley Ducks Unlimited. Mike has been awarded the Buzz Ramsey Foot Soldier Award, the Bronze Mallard Award and was named the 2021 Chairman of the Year. He also gives his time to WDFW with their youth events and volunteers at a local, youth-only trout pond.
