The NCSSEF has its roots in a fishing event hosted by the Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation (Oregon Wildlife Foundation) intended to generate funding for winter chinook enhancement program in Tillamook area rivers and acquire strategic properties to provide public access. The event, since named the North Coast Salmon Rendezvous, has become a mainstay celebrating its 37th anniversary in 2021.
Participating in the two-day Rendezvous, either as an angler or guide, has become prestigious with a waiting list for seats. Some of the best guides in the\ Pacific Northwest donate two-days of fishing opportunity on Tillamook area rivers or bays depending on water conditions. A fun-filled competition keeps things interesting for both anglers and guides.
The Rendezvous is all about good fishing, excellent food, camaraderie and raising funds for north coast fishing enhancement projects. It has been incredibly successful generating and investing millions of dollars on key projects that are making a lasting positive difference.
Projects include acquisition of property for public access, hatchery improvements, habitat restoration, boat facility improvements, support for broodstock programs and scientific research.
The NCSSEF has been, and continues to be, a key partner in the H&WC campaign providing the initial start-up funds and essential organizational support.
